Aging and stress can cause teeth to become chipped, worn, weak and discolored. Today's advanced techniques and materials can make a real difference. And the skill, experience and commitment of our practice — using a unique combination of science and artistry — can literally redesign your smile.
Whitening or Bleaching (top)
Having a beautiful smile may be even easier than you think. Many people achieve a much brighter tooth color with our simple "whitening" procedure. It's safe, quick, and inexpensive. Just let us know at any appointment if you would like to begin whitening. You can lighten only your upper teeth or both the upper and lower, depending on how much of each shows when you talk and smile.
Porcelain Veneers (top)
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic porcelain that are permanently bonded directly to the front surfaces of prepared teeth. They can dramatically improve the appearance of teeth that are worn, discolored or fractured. Placing custom veneers requires a high degree of technical skill as well as attention to cosmetic detail. Dr .Fratantonio places veneers routinely, and designs each case individually to match and enhance characteristics already present in each patient's teeth.
Bonding (top)
Bonding can be used as a restorative procedure for teeth that are chipped, cracked, or discolored. The tooth is prepared for the procedure by lightly etching the surface and applying a bonding or adhering material. Then a plastic resin is applied and sculpted into the desired shape by the dentist. Once set, the resin is trimmed, smoothed and polished to a natural appearance.
White Fillings (top)
When a critical area of a tooth’s biting surface is damaged, inlays and onlays are utilized. An inlay usually fits into the central biting surface of the tooth and may include one or more of the sides of the tooth. An onlay usually has a larger area of coverage, and most often includes one or more of the large cusps of a tooth. Both are made of a ceramic porcelain which are impressively strong and resilient.
